Konrath Wins 8th Annual All Pro Snowball Derby

Garrett Konrath outgunned Dalton Collins in the closing laps to win the 8th annual All Pro Snowball Derby. Konrath and Collins put on quite a show over the final 100 laps, racing side-by-side and swapping the lead several times, with Collins seemingly having the advantage all the way up to the final five laps. But a late caution flag would slow and regroup the field and set things for a three-lap shootout between Collins, Konrath and Brandon Wilkinson. Konrath, who had made his way to the lead in the third trimester of the 300-lap event was spun by a lapped car, seemingly taking away any chance he had for the win. But Konrath showed his talents behind the wheel and battled back to the top two as closing time loomed near. On the final restart it was Collins leading Wilkinson and Konrath. Konrath worked his way under Collins and claimed the lead for the final time and led the final two laps to take his first All Pro Snowball Derby win.  FULL RESULTS

Travis Wright Wins 8th Annual AllPro/Sim500 Snowflake 200

Travis Wright outlasted his competition and used his long-run strengths to capitalize on long green-flag runs to win the 8th annual All Pro Sim500 Snowflake 200 Pro Late Model event Saturday night. Zac Coyer dominated the opening 77 laps, but used up his tires as the race stayed green except for an early caution inside the first ten laps. Charlie Melvin was the only other competitor that could keep Wright within reach, but after drawing to within three car lengths of Wright in the final 25 laps he faded, allowing Wright to cruise to the win.

Joey Gattina Wins 8th Annual AllPro/Sim500 Snowman 100

Joey Gattina kept his #4 Dodge modified near the front all night, then powered his way to the lead with just 25 laps to go and went on to take the easy win in Saturday night's All Pro Sim500 Snowman 100 event. Carl Burk dominated the opening laps, but tangled with Jackie Palmore after a restart, putting  Louie Robinett on the point. But a few laps later, just after another restart Robinett got a tap from Gatinna, spinning and ending his night. Joseph Hudson ran in the P2 position, trying his best to get to Gattina's bumper to make a race of it, but fell short.

Chamblee Wins "Gladiator 100" Fun-Run to Wrap Up Derby Qualifying Night

Sunday, November 26 :: Due to the low turnout for qualifying for the 8th Annual All Pro Snowball Derby, the 100-lap race originally planned to be a last-chance qualifier was run as a tune-up race for the Derby, which will be run in two weeks. Chuck Chamblee and Robert Barber paced the field, with Chamblee getting out to a big lead in the early laps. Numerous caution periods kept the field tight for most of the race, and most everyone opted to keep fresh tires and pitted under each caution. Barber tried a two-tire change, changing only right-side tires but found that to be a disappointment. Chamblee had trouble on pit road, losing several spots on the first stop of the night. Charlie Melvin seemed to have one of the best cars, taking the lead halfway through and having a great battle with Jeff Faulkner, Barber and Chamblee. All four drivers faced hard times, each involved in caution periods at different times during the race. But Chamblee, despite a severely battered race car was able to get back up front late in the race and hold off Mark Royer, Jeff Faulkner, Jeff Dillon and Louie Robinett to take the win.

Chamblee will lead the field to the green flag on Sunday night, December 10th for the 8th Annual All Pro Snowball Derby.
